固态电池的关键在于固态电解质（SSE），目前该领域主要分为三大方向：聚合物、氧化物和硫化物。今天主要说的是硫化物固态电解质（Sulfide Solid Electrolytes）是理论上最佳的固态电解质材料，优点:(1)硫化物固态电解质的电导率最高（室温下可达10?2 S/cm量级，接近液态电解质）,(2)电化学稳定窗口较宽，可以在5V以上，助力能量密度提升,(3)）硫化锂（Li2S）基电解质以玻璃态或陶瓷态存在，兼具机械强度与热稳定性，适应电极体积膨胀，提升循环稳定性。但硫化物材料也面临一些挑战，如成本相对较高、电化学稳定性和空气稳定性。硫化物固态电解质以“离子传导高速公路”等优势，随着技术不断突破，加速高比能电池、固态里金属电池、消费电子等产业升级。

目前，全球企业和机构纷纷在该领域展开角逐，其中以日韩和美国的企业最为活跃。

All-solid-state batteries with non-flammable solid electrolytes offer enhanced safety features，among various solid-state electrolytes(the material types of solid electrolytes can be divided into four categories: oxides, sulfides, polymers, and halides.), sulfide solid electrolyte is considered as promising candidate due to Sulfide electrolytes have high room temperature conductivity and good ductility, and their stability can be improved through doping and coating. Sulfide electrolytes currently come in three main forms: glass, glass-ceramics and crystals. Sulfide electrolytes have high room temperature conductivity, which can be close to that of liquid electrolytes (10-4-10-2 S/cm), moderate hardness, good interface physical contact, and good mechanical properties. They are important candidate materials for solid-state batteries.The main drawback of sulfide solid electrolytes remains the poor electrochemical stabilities of the materials.

SEs  improve energy density, making them crucial for applications like portable gadgets, electric vehicles, and renewable energy storage.
